Pews News – 3 February 2019

  1. Welcome to the kirk – and this celebration of the Sacrament. May the peace of God go with you!
  2. Coffee is served after morning worship in Stenton and from 10-15am in Prestonkirk.
  3. Flowers have been arranged by Jo Gray (Stenton) and  Mary Watson (Prestonkirk). Readers are Angie Simpson (Stenton) and Elizabeth0 Cowan  (Prestonkirk).
  4. Children are always welcome to worship with us.  At Stenton, there is an activity for the children after the children’s address. At Prestonkirk, children over three are invited to attend the Sunday School in the Stables after the second hymn. Creche in the Smeaton Room.
  5. The 4U Group meets at 12-15pm in the Stables today. £341 raised for the Winter Night Shelter at Bethany Christian Trust. Many thanks!
  6. The Guild meets on Tuesday  at 2-15pm in the Stables – ‘Talk on the Wild Side’ with Ms Sam Ranscombe.
  7. The J-Team continues on Wednesday  in the Village Hall, Stenton at 4pm – ‘Telling Tales 14 –  Captain of the Storm ’.
  8. Athelstaneford Church is organising a Quiz Night on Friday at 7 for 7-30 in aid of church funds. Come along and join a team or bring a foursome with you! More details on the noticeboard in the Stables.
  9. The Community Bible Experience begins this month and runs for eight weeks. The minister is gathering together a group of people who would be interested in reading  and meeting  on  Thursdays   5-6pm in the Stables. If you would like to join him, please come to the Stables on Thursday  at 5pm for your copy of the Old Testament.
  10. Date for your Diary – Saturday 23 March an evening with ‘Traprain’s Got Talent’ in the Community Hall, East Linton. Why not volunteer to perform on your own, with your family, as a group … Contact Gill Watson e: and t: 860438.
