Pews News – 17 June 2018

  1. Welcome to the Church in the Hall and breakfast at Stenton and to Prestonkirk – and may the peace of God be with you!
  2. Coffee after worship at Stenton and from 10-15am in Prestonkirk.
  3. Flowers arranged by Lynda Jeffrey (Stenton) and Margaret Hunter (Prestonkirk). Readers are John/Christian Lindsay (Stenton) and Irene Heron (Prestonkirk).
  4. Children are invited to enjoy the whole service today.
  5. The class for new members is on Thursday at 7pm in the Stables.
  6. A ‘Strawberry Fayre’ and Table Top Sale will take place in the Community Hall, East Linton on Saturday.  Afternoon Tea (with a glass of fizz) will be served between 1.30pm and 4.30pm  alongside some musical entertainment!  Tickets cost £6 (adult) and £3 (children) from Yvonne Aitken (07809684900) and Anne Mason (07719368420).
  7. Gifford Art Group are organising an exhibition in the Village Hall on Friday (6-8pm) and Saturday and Sunday (10am-5pm). Proceeds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
  8. Next Sunday, there will be the Sunday School/4U Prize-giving at Prestonkirk. Children are invited to come early to make some biscuits happy!
  9. The second workshop       for ‘Welcome to the Lord’s Table’ is next Sunday afternoon   at 2-30pm in the Stables.
  10. Next Sunday night, there will be a ‘Midsummer Songs of Praise’ at Whittingehame Kirk at 6-30pm. There will be an offering for Christian Aid.
  11. At Prestonkirk, we are organising an Adventure Day entitled ‘Seascape’ for children in the Stables, the kirk and the glebe field on Tuesday 14 August 10am-2pm including lunch. If you can help with this, please contact the minister.
  12. Many thanks indeed to all those who participated in the recent ‘Open Gardens’ at Stenton. £1,812 was raised for Parkinsons UK.
